Rolls-Royce Ghost Golden Sunbird revealed

The Rolls-Royce Ghost Golden Sunbird special edition has been revealed, taking inspiration from an ancient Chinese artefact.

Shown on the British marque's Facebook page, the Rolls-Royce Ghost Golden Sunbird is a one-off model based on thethe long-wheelbase version of the company's entry-level luxury limousine.

Featuring unique motifs, embroidery and veneers inspired by the ring-shaped Golden Sun Bird artefact discovered at the Jinsha Ruins in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province in 2001, the special Ghost additionally gains exclusive gold paintwork, wheel and interior details and sill plates. Though not specifically mentioned, the car's Spirit of Ecstasy statue also appears to be plated in the precious metal.

Power is expected to continue to come from a 420kW/780Nm twin-turbocharged 6.6-litre V12.

Commissioned for an anonymous client for an undisclosed amount, the Rolls-Royce Ghost Golden Sunbird is guaranteed to be valued beyond the standard Ghost's $609,000 starting price.
