Ferrari 458 Speciale let loose on track: video

The Ferrari 458 Speciale has been let loose on track in a new clip from the Prancing Horse brand.

Officially unveiled at this week's Frankfurt motor show, the Ferrari 458 Speciale follows in the footsteps of the hardcore 360 Challenge Stradale and 430 Scuderia and features a 445kW/540Nm 4.5-litre V8 and moveable aerodynamics.

Ferrari claims the 1290kg 458 Speciale will hit 100km/h in 3.0 seconds, 200km/h in 9.1 seconds and can lap the Italian manufacturer's Fiorano test track 1.5 seconds quicker than the standard 458.

Highlighted in the clip, along with the supercar's active aerodynamics, interior details and engine note, is its new Side Slip angle Control system that is said to make it easier to achieve car control when "at the limit”.

Ferrari Australia is yet to confirm local pricing or timing for the model.
