Renault Twizy Cargo: French EV trades rear seat for load capacity

The Renault Twizy Cargo has been revealed, introducing a new delivery-focused derivative with an increased load capacity.

Trading its rear seat for a 180-litre "watertight" boot with a maximum load of 75kg, the all-electric Renault Twizy Cargo has been designed to appeal to delivery businesses, couriers, and emergency services.

The boot is accessible via a rear door that can open to 90 degrees, while the front seat remains moveable.

Renault says the Twizy's ability to park in tight spaces and its zero-emissions operation makes it a logical basis for a delivery vehicle.

Offering a “real range” of between 50-80km, the Cargo is available in two trims: the 3.7kW Life 45 limited to 45km/h and the 12.5kW Life 80 limited to 80km/h. Prices in Europe start at 6750 euros ($9600) and 7350 euros ($10,400), respectively.

The Renault Twizy Cargo is the latest variant of the EV to be seen, following the awesome 72kW Renault Twizy RS F1 concept.
