Aston Martin V12 Vantage S: $390K for 3.9sec supercar

The Aston Martin V12 Vantage S will become the quickest standard-production model in the brand's history when it launches later this year.

The British luxury sports car manufacturer says the V12 Vantage S is capable of accelerating from 0-100km/h in 3.9 seconds, making it faster to triple figures than all in the Aston Martin stable besides the limited edition One-77 supercar.

The 330km/h top speed of the V12 Vantage S also leaves it second only to the One-77.

Aston Martin has also confirmed pricing for the new V12 Vantage S, which is set to start at $389,300 in Australia when the car launches in October.

The Aston Martin V12 Vantage S is the most potent Vantage in the nameplate’s history, producing 421kW of power and 620Nm of torque from its 6.0-litre naturally aspirated V12.

Impressively, 510Nm is sent to the rear wheels at just 1000rpm via Aston’s new seven-speed Sportshift III automated manual transmission.

The flagship Vantage becomes the first in the family to feature Aston’s drive mode selector, offering Normal, Sport and Track options for the adaptive damping, throttle response, shift speed and timing and exhaust note.

A new exhaust system and quicker steering further mechanically differentiate the V12 Vantage S from the standard car, while black carbonfibre body panels and components create a unique look for the Gaydon-built sports car.
