Peugeot RCZ R production car to debut at Goodwood

The Peugeot RCZ R production car will be unveiled at next month's Goodwood Festival of Speed, debuting the brand's most powerful production model ever.

Powered by a tweaked version of Peugeot's turbocharged 1.6-litre four-cylinder direct-injection engine, the Peugeot RCZ R will deliver 194kW – 47kW more than the recently released 2013 RCZ – while claiming combined cycle fuel consumption of 6.9 litres per 100km and averageCO2 emissions of 155 grams per kilometre.

The unveiling and dynamic display of two red Peugeot RCZ R production cars at Goodwood comes after the 2012 Paris motor show debut of the matt black RCZ R Concept (pictured).

To be launched at the end of the year, the road-going RCZ R features a bespoke sports suspension set-up, a Torsen limited-slip differential and a unique wheel design.

Accompanying the RCZ R at this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed which begins on July 11, will be the wild 507kW diesel hybrid Peugeot Onyx concept.

The newly updated Peugeot RCZ, released locally in May, starts from $58,990.
