Holden VF Commodore Ute: price cuts on all models and 3.6-litre V6 for unnamed base model

Specifications for the Holden VF Commodore Ute have been released, with auto parking technology and a rear-view camera standard on all models, and price cuts of up to $5500 across the range.

Missing the Evoke badge introduced on the sedan, and ditching the Omega badge previously used, the now-unnamed base Holden VF Commodore Ute also opens with a 3.6-litre SIDI V6 engine instead of the 3.0-litre V6 used in the Evoke sedan and old Omega, while LPG is no longer available on any of the two-door range.

The price drops $2500 compared with the old Omega Ute, while the new entry-level Ute also adds front and rear parking sensors, auto park technology, a rear-view camera and an eight-inch colour touchscreen with iPod and app integration.

For the same price as the six-speed automatic-only Ute, buyers can choose the SV6 manual with the same 3.6-litre engine. The SV6 gets a heftier $5500 price decrease compared with the old model. Over the base Ute, the SV6 adds blind spot alert, reverse traffic alert, sports seats, FE2 sports suspension, 18-inch alloy wheels with chrome exhaust tip, limited slip differential for manual models, sports bodykit with projector headlights, soft tonneau cover and LED daytime running lights.

The VF Commodore SS Ute is down $3500 to $38,990 and includes the same features as the SV6, but with the larger 6.0-litre V8 engine.

Down a fuller $5000 compared with before, the $42,490 SS V Series Ute adds leather seats, 19-inch wheels, a sensor key with auto start, front foglights, colour instrument display, satellite navigation and DVD playback for the main screen, and footwell lamps.

Optioning the Redline package on the SS V Series Ute adds another $6000, taking the price tag to $48,490. Added kit includes Brembo brakes, forged 19-inch alloy wheels, colour head-up display, forward collision alert, lane departure warning and FE3 ultra sports tuned suspension.

A six-speed automatic adds $2200 to all models except the base Ute, which has the auto shifter standard.
