Intended to show off the possibilities of the Skoda Rapid design, the Czech manufacturer's Sport concept is finished in two-tone metallic Steel Grey and Corrida Red with red highlighted again on the 19-inch alloy wheels.
The Skoda Rapid Sport concept’s front end is sharpened up with a deep central air intake and a low-slung front skirt, while the rear gets embolden tail-lights, a black boot lip spoiler, chunky rear bumper and a squared-off dual-exit exhaust system.
Inside, the sporting theme continues with a sports steering wheel, Recaro seats and illuminated door sills. While the standard 4480mm-long and 1700mm-wide Skoda Rapid is powered by a range of petrol and diesel engines, topped by a turbocharged 1.4-litre four-cylinder producing 90kW and 200Nm, full details of the Rapid Sport concept will be revealed following the car’s unveiling.
In Skoda’s range, the Rapid sits between the Skoda Fabia and new Octavia – the latter due in Australia in the second half of the year before being followed by the performance RS variant a few months later.
Marking the 32nd year of the Volkswagen Group event, the 2013 Worthersee show takes place from May 8-12 in Reifnitz, Austria.
