Lamborghini LP560-4 Spyder at MIMS

Lamborghini will feature its stunning Gallardo LP560-4 Spyder along side its coupe counterpart and awesome Murcielago LP640 at this year's Melbourne International Motor Show.

It is the first time the open-top version of the LP560-4 has made an appearance in Australia and is both the fastest and most expensive car on display at this year's Show.

Powered by a new 5.2-litre V10 the LP560-4 Spyder is capable of a top speed of 324km/h and manages the 0-100km/h sprint in 4.0 seconds flat.

The LP560-4 is the latest development of the Gallardo, the best selling Lamborghini of all time, offering the performance and handling of the Coupe with the open air pleasure of a soft-top sports car. It also features a lighter transmission and a revised permanent all-wheel-drive system.

Another very special car will remind supercar enthusiasts that Lamborghini created the world's first mid-engined road-going supercar more than 40 years ago when it launched the P400 Miura.

A privately owned Lamborghini Miura has been selected for the 75th Melbourne Motor Show Historic Tribute display, along with a rare few of the most significant cars of past Motor Shows.

Not only did Lamborghini stun the motoring world with the Miura in 1966, but it continues to stun with the Miura's direct descendants, the Gallardo and Murcielago.

Oh, and in case you were wondering as to the LP560-4's price tag? It's just a touch over $750,000 - meaning it is sure to earn a lot of attention when the doors open on February 27th.

The Melbourne International Motor Show runs until March 9 at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre
