Expanding the relationship between Infiniti and Red Bull Racing – known since the end of 2012 as Infiniti Red Bull Racing – the three-time F1 World Champion will assist in vehicle development, specifically with the tuning of steering, braking and suspension systems.
Infiniti president Johan de Nysschen said having Vettel’s talent and ability behind the wheel has proven invaluable to the company in regards to vehicle development.
“How many premium automotive brands can honestly say its vehicles have been developed alongside a triple World Champion?”
Vettel said he was happy to be in the new role and was looking forward to working with Infiniti in developing future road cars.
Working with Infiniti Red Bull Racing test and reserve driver Sebastien Buemi, Vettel has been putting Infiniti’s luxury hardware through its paces around Germany’s Nurburgring and Spain’s Circuit de Catalunya.
