Skoda Octavia RS: fastest Octavia ever set for Goodwood debut
The all-new Skoda Octavia RS, dubbed the fastest road-going Octavia yet, will have its world premiere at this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed.
The new third–generation Skoda Octavia RS – seen in several leaked images at the end of last year – will be longer, wider, lighter and more powerful than its predecessor, with the Czech brand saying it will be the fastest production Skoda Octavia yet.
Said to offer “motorsport feel, great design, intelligent engineering and outstanding value for money,” the new Octavia RS will be the mid-sized sedan’s flagship model when the Skoda Octavia range lands on local shores in the second half of 2013.
Skoda CEO Winfried Vahland said the Goodwood Festival of Speed was the ideal stage for the world premiere of a car that is the heart of the brand.
“It is our fastest and most powerful Octavia.
“The new Octavia RS is a link with our brand’s great motorsports tradition.”
The new Skoda Octavia RS is also set to feature in the festival’s famed Hill climb event, where the racecar-inspired Ford FF1 will also be making its public debut.
The 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed takes place on the grounds of Goodwood House in England, July 11-14.
