McLaren P1 tackles Top Gear track, MP4-12C Spider slides in snow

McLaren has been busy putting its two latest supercars through their paces, with footage of both the McLaren P1 and McLaren MP4-12C Spider finding their way online.

The first video sees the 673kW/900Nm hybrid-powered McLaren P1 being hustled around Top Gear’s Dunsfold test track by the McLaren Mercedes team’s new Formula One addition, Segio Perez.

Still wrapped in camouflage before the hypercar’s Geneva motor show reveal, the McLaren P1 fills the former airbase with the sound of its electrically-assisted 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 powerplant.

Also making a ruckus is the 460kW/600Nm McLaren MP4-12C Spider steered by New Zealand native Rhys Millen as the Pikes Peak international hill climb record-holder challenges Californian Winter X-Games snowboarder Chanelle Sladics to a race down the snow-covered Loveland Pass in Colorado’s Rocky Mountains, from its peak at 11,990 feet (3655m) above sea level.
