Lyonheart K: modern-day Jaguar E-Type priced from $450K

The Lyonheart K, a stunning modern interpretation of the Jaguar E-Type, will cost in excess of $450,000 when production starts in December.

Available in both coupe and convertible body styles, production of the Lyonheart K was originally intended to be limited to just 50 units, but strong interest has encouraged the Coventry, England-based manufacturer to increase that number to 250.

Powered by a 430kW/700Nm 5.0-litre supercharged Cosworth V8, the curvaceous aluminium sports car accelerates from 0-100km/h in just 3.9 seconds and powers on to an electronically limited top speed of 300km/h.

While embracing the iconic styling of the E-Type, the Lyonheart K is a modern sports car in all other areas. The exterior is adorned with bi-xenon headlamps, LED daytime running lights and tail-lights, and 20-inch wire wheels.

The premium cabin is trimmed with high quality leathers, wool carpets, wood veneers and aluminium panels and switchgear, and features a seven-inch high-resolution touchscreen with satellite navigation and a 525-watt Bowers & Wilkins surround sound system.

The chassis features double wishbone front and multi-link rear suspension with electronic dampers, 380mm front brakes with aluminium calipers, speed-sensitive power steering, active differential, and an adaptive dynamics system that analyses speed, steering and body movements 500 times a second.

The circa-$467K convertible sports a fully electric soft-top roof that can be lowered or raised in 12 seconds at speeds up to 50km/h.

Expect the first examples of the Lyonheart K to roll out of the factory just in time for Christmas.
