A special edition model designed to acknowledge the success of Aston Martin GT4 racecars and be part of the car maker's centenary year celebrations, the Aston Martin Vantage SP10 is a six-speed manual-equipped follow-on from the seven-speed paddle-shifted automatic-only Aston Martin V8 Vantage S released in 2011.
Named for the SP10 racing class that competes at Germany’s Nurburgring, the Aston Martin Vantage SP10 is powered by the same 321kW/490Nm 4.7-litre V8 engine found in the Vantage S, and is capable of a top speed of 305km/h. While a 0-100km/h time for the new manual Vantage SP10 is not specifically revealed, the paddle-shifted Vantage S hits three figures in 4.5 seconds.
Available in both Coupe and Roadster bodystyles finished in Ceramic Grey metallic paint and sporting an aggressive front splitter, carbonfibre rear diffuser, clear tail-lights and a unique ‘Aston Martin Vantage SP10’ engine block badge, the special edition model also scores gloss black 19-inch cast alloy wheels with V-shaped diamond turned spokes and black brake calipers.
Inside, black again dominates with a piano black centre console, black leather-trimmed instrument panel, seats, roof liner, and sports steering wheel all upholstered in black Alcantara with highlights of contrasting silver stitching. (Roadsters differ with the seats and steering wheel wrapped in black leather.) Sports suspension (Coupe only) and lightweight carbonfibre seats are also available as options.
While inspired by racing, the Vantage SP10 still receives electric seats, satellite navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, and a 750-watt premium audio system.
Available only across Europe, the Aston Martin Vantage SP10 will set you back 96,635 euro ($125,329) and, for those who don’t like using both feet to drive, can still be ordered with the seven-speed Sportshift II automatic transmission.
In Australia, the Aston Martin V8 Vantage S commands a $275,000 price tag.
