Nissan GT-R prepares for Fast and Furious role

A Nissan GT-R that will feature as one of the hero cars in the upcoming sixth Fast and Furious film has been captured being put through its paces on a dyno.

Shown in a video completing a dyno run, the blue R35 Nissan GT-R built by California-based tuner SP Engineering starts turning its wheels at a deep growl low in the rev range and continues winding out to a top-end scream before hitting its rev limiter.

The modified supercar-killer definitely sounds furious and is sure to be fast. While the standard car throws out figures of 404kW and 628Nm from its 3.8-litre twin-turbo V6 for an official 0-100km/h time 2.8 seconds, the movie car sees these numbers rise to around 511kW and 817Nm.

Suggestions have also been made that joining the hypo Nissan in the next instalment of the cult film series will be at least one Subaru BRZ/Toyota 86.

Fast and Furious 6 is due for release in the US on May 24.
