Alfa Romeo 8C Spider exhaust note video
It isn't a supercar in the true sense of the word, but the Alfa Romeo 8C Spider was renowned for it's superb lines and even better engine note from the 4.7-litre V8 under its bonnet.
Like the 8C Competizione coupe, Alfa Romeo only ever made 500 carbonfibre-bodied 8C Spiders, with most of those going to private collectors.
The engine is a dry-sump version of Maserati’s 4.7-litre V8 that produces 331kW of power and 479Nm of torque driving the rear wheels through a six-speed automated manual gearbox with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters.
As a junior supercar the Alfa Romeo 8C spider wasn’t exactly slow, capable of going from 0-100km/h in 4.4 seconds and achieving a top speed of 291km/h (unchanged from the coupe).
Be sure to turn up the volume before you watch the above video of the Alfa Romeo 8C Spider carving up some twisty Italian roads.
