Land Rover Australia has revealed the prices and specifications of the updated 2013 Land Rover Freelander 2, which will arrive in local showrooms in December with a new $42,300 starting price that is $2690 lower than before.
The new four-cylinder turbocharged engine replaces the six-cylinder Si6 powerplant and offers more power and torque (increased to 340Nm), as well as a 14 per cent reduction in CO2 emissions to 224g/km.
A premium overhaul rather than major model update, the 2013 Land Rover Freelander 2 also includes new exterior design features and upgraded equipment levels.
There’s a brand new centre console design with a 7.0-inch touch-screen with integrated satellite navigation and a choice of audio systems from high-end English loudspeaker manufacturer, Meridian.
Also new to the 2013 Land Rover Freelander 2 is push-button start, which replaces the traditional key dock, and there’s an electric parking brake system that adjusts brake force according to the angle of slope the vehicle is parked on.
‘Say What You See’ voice activation system with visual prompts and a rear view camera are also new for Freelander 2.
The original design Terrain Response dial has also been replaced by switches with the benefit of an additional storage space with shutter.
