Suzuki SX4 Crossover: new name, new features, hatch only for 2013

The updated 2013 Suzuki SX4 range has been launched in Australia, offering sharper looks, new features, a new name and no sedan variant.

Now known as the Suzuki SX4 Crossover and Crossover AWD, the hatch-only line-up starts with the $18,990 entry-level SX4 Crossover with features including cruise control, Bluetooth connectivity, eight-speaker stereo with auxiliary input and new alloy wheels.

The higher specification Crossover S and Crossover AWD S models come standard with a new touchscreen satellite navigation system with Bluetooth and voice command, remote keyless entry and start, front foglights and 16-inch alloy wheels.

The Suzuki SX4 Crossover’s revised design sees a stronger front end and new headlights join side mirror-mounted indicators and new seat fabrics for the interior. Six airbags and electronic stability control are also now standard across the range.

The 112kW/190Nm 2.0-litre engine with six-speed manual transmission remains, with the optional continuously variable transmission (CVT) available with steering wheel-mounted gear shift paddles on the $24,290 SX4 Crossover S CVT and $26,490 SX4 Crossover S AWD CVT – both $300 more than the outgoing model.

The SX4’s intelligent all-wheel drive (i-AWD) system is also carried over for the 2013 model year allowing drivers to switch between 2WD, 4WD auto and 4WD lock modes via a console-mounted rocker switch.

Two new colours, Plasma Yellow and Boost Blue, will add to the updated looks of the 2013 model year Suzuki SX4 Crossover when it arrives in dealerships this month.
