Ferrari Special Projects builds one-off SP Ayra

Ferrari Special Projects is currently developing a special order Ferrari for petro-chemical tycoon Cheerag Arya, called the SP Ayra.

The SP Ayra will be the fifth car Ferrari Special Projects has developed for the Dubai-based Indian businessman and will incorporate design elements from the Ferrari 599 and the more recent Ferrari F12 cars.

As a keen car collector, Ayra owns seven Ferraris including a 599 GTO and 599 XX, as well as other high-priced exotics such as a Bugatti L’Or Blanc.

It also makes him the eighth person behind the likes of Eric Clapton and New York Property magnate Peter Kalikov to join the exclusive 'SP' edition Ferrari club.

According to the Ferrari magazine, Ayra told the designers what he wanted and was subsequently presented with 12 different design sketches. From there he chose the best bits of each and a final design was chosen and signed off on.

His wish list of special features included bespoke body details and reworked suspension and exhaust systems, but no boost in power from the Ferrari V12 (500kW) was stipulated.

Naturally, there is no mention of the final price.
