Lexus LS460: full exterior exposed in new leaked images

The slew of shots reveals the entire exterior design of the LS460 in standard trim as well as the all-new performance-themed F Sport specification, and comes hot on the heels of two other images that leaked late last week and an official teaser image from Lexus on Friday.

The remaining pieces of the 2013 Lexus LS puzzle, including the upgraded cabin and any powertrain and equipment revisions, will be revealed tomorrow (July 31) at 1:30pm AEST at an exclusive event in San Francisco.

Lexus Australia is targeting a late 2012 launch for its revised Mercedes-Benz S-Class rival, with the updated range set to retain the existing LS460 and LS600hL models, while also adding the F Sport variant.

Headlining the visual updates to the LS range is the adoption of the brand’s signature spindle grille; a revised headlight assembly with three lamps each, individual LEDs and L-shaped daytime running lights; a reshaped bulging bonnet; and reworked tail-lights with darker lenses and L-shaped LEDs.

The standard LS460 gets a conventional grille with horizontal slats while the LS460 F Sport adds more aggression with a black mesh grille, larger lower air intakes and sportier grey alloy wheels.

While little is known about the updates to the cabin, peering through the rear window seems to reveal some significant enhancements, with a enormous display screen at the top of the centre console that is now positioned above the air vents.

The 2013 LS is expected to benefit from a screen at least as large as the 12.3-inch display in the less expensive Lexus GS model, and likewise incorporate split screen functionality, satellite navigation, climate control, vehicle set-up information and full audio accessibility including digital radio.
