2009 Corvette ZR1 Video Review

In what could quite possibly be GM’s final crack at high end, petrol guzzling performance and all out power, the spanking new 2009 Corvette ZR1 has been tested by Motortrend magazine, and all indicators show that it is indeed a vehicle to be taken seriously by both the Europeans, and the Japanese.

Propelling the new ZR1 is a supercharged 6.2 litre LS9 V8 that makes a mammoth 476 kW and 819 N·m of torque, of which can also be found in the new Cadillac CTS-V.

This engine utilises an Eaton roots-type supercharger and features a neat water to air intercooler system that sits individual brick type coolers in each cylinder bank, and can be seen sitting flush through a hole in the sloping bonnet of the ZR1.
