Aston Martin V12 Vantage Roadster leaked

After years of rumours and speculation, we finally have confirmation the Aston Martin V12 Vantage Roadster will be built in a limited production run.

The V12 Vantage Roadster is set to be officially unveiled later this week, although a website dedicated to the car, v12vantageroadster.com, got its hands on the first images and details and published them ahead of schedule.

An image of the convertible sports car’s build plate reveals the V12 Vantage Roadster will be even more exclusive than the limited edition Aston Martin V12 Zagato, with just 101 Roadsters to be built.

The V12 Vantage Roadster carries over the 380kW/570Nm 6.0-litre V12 from its coupe sibling, which should see it accelerate from 0-100km/h in around 4.5 seconds.

Differences to the coupe include a revised rear deck lid with a reshaped spoiler, redesigned front air intake and modified front and rear suspension.

Other elements believed to be unique to the Roadster include carbonfibre mirror caps, tail-light fill-ins, and side strakes; black borders around the tail-lights; new forged alloy wheels; Aston Martin logos with black backgrounds; and glass switches in place of black plastic in the centre stack.

Production of the Aston Martin V12 Vantage Roadster is set to start in the final quarter of 2012, with the cars to be built over a nine-month period.
