Citroen C4 AirCross: French SUV here this month

The Citroen C4 AirCross SUV will become the French marque's first four-wheel-drive sold in Australia when it launches at the end of this month.

Sharing its platform and powertrain with the Mitsubishi ASX and co-developed alongside the Peugeot 4008, the C4 AirCross joins the Citroen C4, Citroen C4 Picasso and Citroen DS4 in Citroen's small-car-based line-up.

The C4 AirCross will be powered exclusively by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine delivering 110kW of power and 197Nm of torque to both front- and four-wheel-drive variants via a manual or continuously variable transmission (CVT).

Four-wheel-drive variants will feature a ‘shift on the fly’ system allowing users to switch between two-wheel-drive, four-wheel drive and '4WD Lock' as required from the driver’s seat.

The AirCross’ styling follows in line with current family DNA, showcasing stylised headlights, chrome grille with in-built badge, vertical LED driving lights in the front bumper, floating D-pillar and appropriately Citroen-designed wheels.

While based on the $25,990 ASX, prices for the C4 AirCross should mirror the mechanically identical, and equally French, 4008, which is priced from $28,990.

CarAdvice will bring you more details when final specifications are released.
