Renault Alpine A110-50: supercar concept cuts through alps

The latest video of the Renault Alpine A110-50 concept car, a car that marks 50 years since the brand's iconic Alpine A110 hit the world stage, has been released.

The video showing the concept car dicing with an original 1960s Renault Apline A110 on a slippery mountain pass follows on from the car's world premiere at the Monaco Grand Prix in Monte Carlo in May 2012 and the first leaked images seen prior to the event.

The 880kg rear-wheel drive A110-50 rides on the same platform as the Renaultsport Megane Trophy racecar and is spurred along by a 298kW/422Nm 3.5-litre V6 engine tied to a six-speed semi-automatic transmission with steering-wheel mounted paddles.

While the Renault Alpine A110-50 remains merely a celebratory concept, the design could hint at future Renaultsport production cars.
