Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG four-door put to bed

Any suggestion of a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG four-door version has been unequivocally quashed by AMG.

The images of a four-door SLS AMG that broke cover on Autoblog back in February, show how the classic Gullwing design would still feature for the front two doors but would be joined by two conventional doors to allow access for rear occupants.

When asked recently by Belgian publication Autovisie about the project's possibility of production, AMG chief Ola Kallenius reportedly replied "absolutely not", expressing surprise that the images created such a reaction from the motoring media.

With high-end four-door sports cars such as the Aston Martin Rapide, Porsche Panamera and Mercedes' own Mercedes-Benz CLS AMG doing the rounds, perhaps the idea may have had some merit.
