GM Chevrolet Right-Hand Drive Production

General Motors (owner of Australia's own Holden) has announced that future models from its Chevrolet brand will be available in right-hand drive for the first time.

This is great news for us as it opens the doors for Holden to bring some of the American muscle cars to Australia.

Showing that GM is catching up with the times, the company has announced that it will make its global technical centers responsible for the development of specific platforms and models, which can then be manufactured in plants all over the world.

Similar to what Toyota does with its Camry model. This system allows for the blueprints of cars to be designed in such a way that producing them will become much easier.

When does the new system actually kick in? Unfortunately, the first cars to be made under the new system are Korean made Kalos and Lacetti models. Whilst the current generaiton Corvette and recently revealed HHR mini-MPV will remain in left hand drive only. Nonetheless, in the not so distant future we shall the next-generation Corvette and upcoming Camaro.

Nontheless if you can't hold out any longer to get a Right-Hand Drive Corvette you can always get one converted at $240,000 AUD from Performax International here in QLD!.
