Mini Roadster by Franca Sozzani created for Life Ball charity

Mini is continuing its support of the Life Ball charity in Vienna this year by auctioning a one-off Mini Roadster designed by Italian Vogue chief editor Franca Sozzani.

The unique Life Ball Mini is the 12th created for the event, which, now in its 20th year, is the largest fundraiser in Europe supporting people with HIV and AIDS.

This year’s floral-inspired concept joins previous designs by famous fashion names including Donatella Versace, Agent Provocateur and DSQUARED2, who created the bush-bashing Red Mudder for last year’s Life Ball.

Sozzani’s Mini Roadster is finished in Deepest Purple matt paint that is contrasted by gold rally stripes and matching accents on the side mirrors and alloy wheels.

Mini says that highlight of Sozzani’s design is the floral motif on the Roadster’s roof, which will be shown in full at the auction on May 19.

The auctioning of Mini’s unique Life Ball creations has raised more than 500,000 euros ($640,000) for the charity since the BMW-owned British manufacturer became involved in the event in 2001.
