Last Aston Martin One-77 supercar sold

The last Aston Martin One-77 supercar has been sold in the US, bringing to an end the exclusive 77-vehicle production run of the British hero car.

Aston Martin CEO Ulrich Bez announced the news about the £1.2 million ($1.8 million) Aston Martin icon at the company’s recent 2011 earnings announcement.

The Aston Martin One-77, first seen at the 2008 Paris motor show, combines a carbonfibre monocoque and aluminium body work with a naturally aspirated 7.3-litre V12 engine that produces 559kW and 750Nm. The two-door coupe dispenses with 100km/h in 3.7 seconds and has the ability to reach over 350km/h.

This final One-77 isn’t actually the last car built as number 77 and number 01 were the first two cars purchased by buyers who were fully aware that the first and last cars often become the most sought after as years pass.

Aston Martin’s 2011 earnings announcement also revealed the manufacturer’s $815 million in revenue, an increase of seven per cent over 2010.
