2013 Audi RS6 Avant: Nurburgring spy shots

These spy images show the 2013 Audi RS6 Avant going through its paces around Germany’s famed Nurburgring, following on from shots of the car snapped in Sweden in January.

Our spies say the calm of the morning was convincingly broken by the roar of the approaching Audi RS6 performance wagon, which is believed to belong to the same 4.0-litre TFSI twin-turbo V8 found in the Audi S6, Audi S8 and new Bentley Continental GT V8.

While no specific figures are known, the Audi RS6 is expected to trump its siblings' power outputs of 309kW for the S6, 373kW for the Bentley GT V8 and 382kW for the S8 – closer to 450kW should be nearer the mark.

The big bad wolf in sheep’s clothing does get sufficiently wider guards, a front lip, wider track and more aggressive brakes with cross-drilled rotors and six-piston calipers. The full roll cage and Recaro race seats seen in the shots are less likely for the production model.
