Another motor show concept, another leak. Pictures of the Mercedes-Benz Concept Style Coupe that previews the German car maker’s upcoming A-Class-based, sloping-roofed four-door have started spreading across the internet.
The model that may be called the CLA when it goes on sale in 2013 will stay quite faithful to the concept that goes on display later today at a Los Angeles design function before going on display at next week’s 2012 Beijing motor show.
The Concept Style Coupe is heavy on A-Class design cues, and for the production version, imagine the front end of the production A-Class combined with the dramatic, tapering rear of the show car.
The concept also gets a real world engine – a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder that produces the same power as a Volkswagen Golf GTI – 155kW – and all distributed to all four wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch auto.
This will be the third model to be based off Mercedes’ new modular ‘MFA’ platform that will underpin further compact models, including a baby SUV and possibly a sub-SLK sports car.
CarAdvice will publish full details and expanded gallery later today once the official Mercedes embargo has lifted.
