Porsche Cayenne recalled: 1459 cars affected

More than 1400 Porsche Cayenne luxury SUVs have been recalled in Australia to repair a defect with the vehicles’ headlights.

The recall of 1459 vehicles includes 2011 and 2012 model year Cayenne, Cayenne Diesel, Cayenne S Hybrid, Cayenne S and Cayenne Turbo variants. It is part of a larger recall affecting more than 100,000 premium Porsche soft-roaders around the world.

The official recall notice published on the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (ACCC) website reads:

“It is possible that the headlight module may not be locked correctly, resulting in the headlight becoming detached from the wing of the car.

“Detachment of the headlight from the car may result in a crash or pose a hazard to other road users.”

Affected Cayenne owners in Australia are encouraged to contact their local authorised Porsche dealership for a rework of the headlight module.

The recall service will take about one hour to complete and will be conducted free of charge.
