2012 Lexus RX official images leaked: F Sport revealed

Official images of the facelifted Lexus RX have leaked online ahead of the luxury soft-roader’s debut at this week’s Geneva motor show.

Today’s photos give us our second look at the revised RX line, following leaked brochure images that surfaced last month.

The new images give us our best look yet at the new styling, which incorporates the brand’s aggressive new spindle grille, LED-infused headlights and a remodelled front bumper.

The 2012 Lexus RX will arrive in Australia around the middle of this year. Lexus Australia will continue to offer the RX350 and RX450 variants, and for the first time both will be available with the ‘F Sport’ package, which is set to include sportier exterior styling and interior appointments, and a number of chassis and suspension tweaks.

The new Lexus RX benefits from new alloy wheels and taillights, and an upgraded interior with a new steering wheel and refreshed trim inserts and materials.

Powertrains are expected to carry over from the current model. The RX350 produces 204kW and 346Nm from its 3.5-litre V6 engine, while the RX450h generates a combined 220kW from its hybrid drive system.

Prices should also remain at similar levels, given the relatively mild nature of the upgrade.

More details on the 2012 Lexus RX will be revealed at Geneva, with full Australian specifications and prices to be confirmed closer to the car’s local midyear launch.
