Pininfarina Cambiano concept leaked online

After various teaser shots, full images of the Pininfarina Cambiano concept have been leaked online. The dramatic Italian exotic is set to be officially revealed at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show next month.

The stylish three-door coupe features reverse-swinging rear doors on one side, providing a grand French-door experience, exposing a cream leather interior decor brightened by light coming through the mostly glass skylight roof.

Keen Italian car enthusiasts may spot the resemblance to the 1957 Lancia Florida II, of which was seen as an inspiration in coming up with the elegant design of the Cambiano.

The exterior features LED lighting, a long bonnet - like the Lancia Florida - and a short boot overhang. It all looks very smooth and aerodynamic, with a consistent design character with no excess in any one area.

Keeping with the modern theme, the Pininfarina Cambiano concept is powered by a range-extending electric powertrain. It consists of four separate 60kW electric motors, while a small diesel engine provides on-the-go recharging capabilities.

Creators say the concept is able to smash 0-100km/h in just 4.2 seconds, while offering a top speed of 275km/h. This would make it one of the fastest electric-based range-extending vehicles around. Overall weight is 1700kg.
