2012 MINI Coupe, Roadster pricing confirmed

MINI Australia has confirmed the pricing of the MINI Coupe and Roadster models ahead of their local showroom debut late in February.

The MINI Cooper S Coupe opens the new line-up at $42,990 before on-road costs, while the cloth-topped Cooper S Roadster demands a $2510 premium at $45,500. That makes the Coupe $2490 more expensive than the Cooper S hatch, while the Roadster is $3100 cheaper than the Cooper S Cabrio.

The JCW Coupe starts at $52,600, making it $3100 dearer than the hatch, while the JCW Roadster tops the new range at $55,100, undercutting the JCW Cabrio by $2200.

All models are powered by the familiar 1.6-litre turbocharged engine tunes from the existing MINI range: the Cooper S models produce 135kW and 260Nm while the JCWs put out 155kW and 280Nm.

The Cooper S Coupe is the most efficient model in the range, burning 6.3 litres of fuel per 100km, while the JCW Coupe is the quickest, sprinting from 0-100km/h in 6.4 seconds.

Standard features across the range include the active rear spoiler, 17-inch alloy wheels, xenon headlights, sport button, parking sensors, climate control and sports seats.

The JCW variants score unique wheels, revised aerodynamic kit, sports suspension, body stripes and a Harmon/Kardon audio system.

  • Cooper S Coupe – $42,990
  • Cooper S Roadster – $45,500
