Chrysler 300 – Luxury sedan – Around June
The all-new Chrysler 300 is a hugely important car for Chrysler and should gain solid penetration in all markets, including Australia. It’s an all new design, inside and out, along with a host of luxury kit and technology on board. The standard 300 will launch will be available with three engine options: the 3.6L Pentastar V6, the carry-over 5.7L HEMI V8 and the high-performance SRT8 with a 6.4L HEMI V8.
Also a possibility, might be the 3.0L V6 turbodiesel powertrain from the Grand Cherokee given it’s impressive power and torque numbers; 177kW and 550Nm respectively. The new interior is particularly impressive and a huge improvement over the outgoing model.
As far as transmissions go for the 300, it is not confirmed whether the car will launch in Australia with the current 5-speed auto as standard kit, or 8-speed ZF box as an optional extra.
Chrysler 300 SRT8 – High-performance Luxury sedan
It’s still a Luxury sedan but the high-performance variant of the 300 range gets a truckload more performance with its 6.4L HEMI. With 347kW and 630Nm of torque, this family sedan will sprint from 0-100km/h in a blistering 4.8 seconds, and there’s still plenty of room for the family and their luggage.
