Ford baby SUV teaser image released
Ford has released its first official teaser image of its new global baby SUV that will be launched at the 2012 India motor show in January and eventually be sold in Australia.
The single picture reveals a VW-esque front end that combines a narrow horizontal grille linking with angular headlights for a vehicle expected to be called EcoSport.
The high-set lamps and grille also match the side view (below right) of the vehicle accidentally revealed on the official Ford India website earlier this month.
The EcoSport will be built in India and is the latest global Ford, following the Ranger ute, to have major engineering and development input from Ford Australia.
The compact SUV, which will measure less than four metres in length, is based on the Ford Fiesta city car and is likely to be a front-wheel-drive model only despite its off-roader cues.
