Nissan Pathfinder concept headed for Detroit show
A concept of the all-new Nissan Pathfinder will be unveiled at the 2012 North American International Auto Show in Detroit next month. The concept will provide a preview to the next-generation SUV, which is expected to launch overseas in 2012, but is unlikely to go on sale in Australia until 2013.
The current generation Nissan Pathfinder has been on the market since 2005, with a facelift in 2008.
Details on the concept are limited at this stage, but according to reports it will borrow elements from the upcoming Infiniti JX luxury SUV in styling and mechanical specifications. This could mean a 3.5-litre V6 producing around 200kW could be in the pipeline.
Inside, the new Pathfinder said to feature three-row seating, a crisp new interior layout, and plenty of modern technologies such as a large screen infotainment system.
Nissan says the concept will showcase an "all-new look, style and attitude that Nissan will bring to the SUV segment when the next-generation Pathfinder goes on sale in fall 2012 [in the US]".
Stay tuned for official images and more details from - and in the lead-up to - its Detroit show unveiling in January.
