2013 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series spy shots

Mercedes-Benz has been spotted testing the new Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series for the very first time. Not that the already-ballistic SLS AMG lacks in any sort of performance, but the new Black Series will come with more power, more speed and attract more looks.

The new SLS AMG Black Series was seen lapping the famous Nurburgring in Germany recently, wearing a mostly matt black colour scheme. Even though Mercedes-Benz was trying to hide the new car behind disguise and black paint, it is easy to spot the prototype's revised body over the normal version.

At the front it looks as though there's a lower and sharper bumper bar and spoiler, while an additional central air intake has also made its way into the lower section. The front guards also seem pumped, featuring a more prominent lip.

At the back is a bit hard to see, but you can easily spot the extra width applied to the rear track and pumped out rear guards, matching the front. The rear of the SLS AMG Black Series is also expected to showcase an aggressive rear diffuser setup, similar to other AMG Black Series vehicles.

As for the engine, the mighty Mercedes SLS AMG Black is said to feature a revised version of the 6.2-litre V8 producing around 450kW of power and 680Nm of torque. This should be good enough to provide 0-100km/h acceleration in around 3.5 seconds.

Stay tuned for more updates.
