Honda production affected by floods in Thailand
Honda Australia could be affected by the recent heavy rain and floods in Thailand, where the company has a number of factories. The Honda Automobile plant, in HATC, Ayutthaya, and the motorcycle and power product production plant at Thai Honda Manufacturing in TH, Bangkok, Ladkrabang, have suffered from the floods.
At the HATC plant, production was initially stopped from October 4 through until October 8, but since then flood water is on the plant's land and some damage has been reported. Production has been suspended until further notice.
Meanwhile, at the TH plant, production of power products has been suspended also from October 4 through until October 10. However, production is still not yet back underway and won't be until further notice. The factory has had no direct flood damage.
As for Honda Australia and its customers, the company says that major deliveries of customer vehicles are still being received from Thailand, but says it will announce the potential setbacks more thoroughly as soon as it hears more.
Honda wishes to express deepest sympathy for those affected by the floods.
