Maybach 57S Edition 125! celebrates Daimler anniversary

The Maybach 57S Edition 125! is the latest creation by Daimler produced to celebrate 125 years in the automotive business.

The one-off Maybach 125! was created to show the possibilities for designing a truly personal, high-end saloon, and introduces a number of mid-life upgrades to the historic manufacturer’s flagship luxury range.

Daimler says the highlights of the Edition 125! over the standard Maybach include contour lighting and a laser-engraved double-M light motif in the front-centre armrest.

The Tahiti Black/Patagonia Silver paint combination is unique, while other new features include Wilheim Maybach signature embroidering on the glove compartment lid, silver top-stitching, silver carbon fibre/piano black lacquer trim, matt black 20-inch alloy wheels and a restyled front radiator grille.

Daimler’s engineers elevated the bonnet to create more sharply defined contours, while revisions have also been made to the front bumper, side mirrors, rear lights and boot lid.

The design changes preview the styling tweaks that will be applied to upcoming Maybach models.

The upgraded 57, 57S and 62 models provide owners with more choice than ever. The standard wheelbase models can now be optioned with reclining seats, and the leather upholstery can be adorned with valuable Swarovski crystal elements.

Previously only available on the limited-run Maybach Zeppelin, a perfume atomiser is now also available on request, while a 19-inch high-resolution cinema screen can be fitted to the rear partition in place of the standard dual 9.5-inch monitors. An on-board WLAN router now makes wireless internet connectivity a possibility for Maybach owners.

Maybach has also enhanced the performance of its 6.0-litre twin-turbocharged V12 engine, with power up 13kW to 463kW and 1000Nm of torque, and combined cycle fuel consumption down from 16.4 litres/100km to 15.8 litres/100km.

Power figures of the 405kW/900Nm 5.5-litre twin-turbo V12 remain unchanged, although fuel economy improves from 15.9 litres/100km to 15.0 litres/100km.
