Infiniti electric sedan sketch at Frankfurt Motor Show

With plenty of manufacturers revealing all new models and concepts at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, Infiniti has unveiled a new Infiniti electric sedan sketch which previews elements of a future model from the marker.

Limited details for the new concept have been released, but the Nissan luxury arm has said it is planning to release an electric vehicle in 2014 using technology from the Nissan LEAF EV.

The new model will be based on a compact sedan layout offering seating for five and a full-charge range further than the Nissan LEAF's offering. Infiniti said in a recent statement,

"Befitting the brand’s promise of Inspired Performance, the Infiniti EV will be a stylish, high performance five-seat luxury vehicle with zero emissions technology."

From the teaser sketch, the new model will feature a sleek new body with a smooth flowing roofline. It will also showcase, by the looks of it, a set of futuristic slimline headlights possibly incorporating LEDs.

The new Infiniti electric sedan also presents pronounced front and rear wheel arches which are blended in to give a very curvy waist and side profile.

A production version of the new model is set to be ready for production by 2014, with market entry likely to take place in 2015.

From what you can make of it, what do you think of the design? And also, what do you think of Nissan/Infiniti offering a sports luxury version of the Nissan LEAF? Could it be a good move?
