Fisker Surf Concept teaser released ahead of Frankfurt

Fisker has released an early teaser sketch of the Fisker Surf Concept it plans to unveil at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show next week. The Surf Concept showcases a shooting brake/sports wagon-style layout and a smooth flowing design.

Official details and specifications of the new concept are yet to be announced, but according to reports, the Fisker Surf Concept will preview future design elements that could be seen on the upcoming Fisker 'Project Nina', a medium BMW 3 Series-rivalling sedan.

Power is expected to come from a plug-in hybrid powertrain including a BMW-sourced 2.0-litre petrol engine - as part of the Fisker and BMW engine deal - and an electric motor and plug-in battery setup. This will likely offer respectable performance figures, similar to the current Fisker Karma luxury sedan.

From this teaser image it appears the Fisker Surf Concept will feature swollen front and rear wheel arches, and a continuous flowing side window comprising chrome-trimmed convex/concave arches.

Full details of the Fisker Surf Concept will be revealed next Tuesday when the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show kicks off. Stay tuned.
