2013 Infiniti JX under consideration for Australia

Infiniti Australia says the upcoming 2013 Infiniti JX is “definitely” a vehicle of interest for the local market.

A concept version of the Infiniti JX is currently part of a public relations drip feed. Five teaser images have been revealed so far in the lead-up to the vehicle’s unveiling at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in Monterey, California on August 18.

The unveiling will be followed by the North American launch of the 2013 Infiniti JX production model in the second quarter of 2012.

The fifth teaser image of the seven-seater SUV reveals the entire rear-end design, which continues the overall curvy theme, embracing the current Infiniti styling direction.

Infiniti Australia General Manager, Kevin Snell, said the brand’s recently formed local operations were currently in talks with Japan about the new SUV.

“It’s definitely of interest,” Mr Snell said. “We see a role down the track for a three-row crossover in our portfolio.

“We will launch our SUV range with the FX, but longer term, we certainly will look at a smaller crossover and the three-row, seven-seat JX."

Infiniti Cars Australia will launch in the third quarter of next year with the FX crossover, M sedan and G37 coupe/convertible.
