US Fiat and Abarth tuning specialist Scagliarini Motorsport has unveiled a special one-off project based on the Fiat 500 Abarth. It’s called the Scagliarini Fiat 504 Coupé Zagato Elaborata, and it features a unique coupe body modelled on the Zagato concept matched with a four-wheel drive system.
The project is a one-off build commissioned by a United Arab Emirates customer who fancied the Fiat 500 Zagato Coupe concept car that was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year.
Although the car is modelled on the Zagato concept, Zagato has openly said it has had nothing to do with this one-off production by Scagliarini. Scagliarini has blended the coupe design from scratch onto a Fiat 500.
It features an all-wheel drive system – hence the 504 name - taken from the Fiat Panda and the same 1.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine from the Abarth, producing 133kW of power.
Other highlights include a traditional double-bubble Zagato-style roof, various carbon fibre details by Scagliarini, closed-in rear side windows to give the 500 a distinct coupe look, as well as Brembo brakes and a high-performance exhaust system.
Scagliarini Motorsports is happy with the finished product and says it has now put the company on the world map as a credible Fiat tuner. Michael Salvarani, managing director of Scagliarini Motorsports, recently said,
"With the Scagliarini 504 Coupè Zagato Elaborata we have established Scagliarini Motorsports on the world-stage proper."
It sounds like it would be a nifty little car, as the Fiat 500 Abarth is already highly regarded. With the addition of a four-wheel drive system it would be a rocket around corners. What do you think? Feel free to give us your thoughts in the comments section below.
