2013 Lexus GS on-track sneak peek video

The all-new 2013 Lexus GS sedan has been teased in a sneak peak video of the vehicle undergoing the final stages of testing. The new luxury sedan will be unveiled in exactly two weeks’ time at the Concours d’Elegance in Pebble Beach.

The 2013 Lexus GS will be built on an entirely new platform. It features styling inspired by the Lexus LF-Gh Concept, which starred at the 2011 Australian International Motor Show in Melbourne at the beginning of last month.

The video gives us another good look at the interior of the new GS, which sports a long, flat dashboard, touch-sensitive mouse and premium leather upholstery. An enormous display screen sitting atop the centre console measures more than one foot diagonally from corner to corner.

The vehicle unveiled in California on August 18 will be the Lexus GS 350. The rear-wheel drive premium sedan will feature a 3.5-litre V6 engine and a six-speed automatic transmission.

The loud soundtrack in the video makes it difficult to hear the test car’s engine, although the short snippets we get have a satisfying grunt about them.

The witch’s hat maze puts the new Lexus Dynamic Handling System to the test, with the car remaining flat and balanced through most of the corners.

International reports suggest a hybrid production model will be revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, while the performance-oriented F Sport model is rumoured to appear at SEMA in the US in November.
