Honda CR-V Concept

Honda CR-V next generation revealed for the first time

Honda has revealed an official image of their next generation CR-V compact SUV. Said to provide a glimpse into their new design language, this all-new fourth generation CR-V will be in Honda showrooms in the United States by December 2011 and Europe in 2012.

Honda has been criticised of late for making cars that lack character, but the new CR-V concept seems like it might be a step in the right direction, as far as a styling language goes.

It’s certainly a more aggressive look overall with more pronounced lines and creases throughout the body, and the front fascia gives the car a bold stance.

Interestingly, the beltline is quite low allowing for lots of glass area, which is in stark contrast to the Kia Sportage with it’s distinctively high beltline and low profile glass area.

There is no word on powertrains as yet other than they will be more efficient than the current engines and deliver improved fuel economy.

The CR-V has been one of Honda’s international success stories with sales in over 160 countries across all the major continents.
