Peugeot 3008 takes out Design Award at the 2011 Australian International Design Awards

The Automotive and Transport category has been hotly contested over the 'Award's past and this year featured cars from Audi (A7), Kia (Optima), Hyundai (Elantra), Peugeot (3008 and RCZ) and Ford (Ranger).

Peugeot was luck enough to have two vehicles make it into the finals (the 3008 SUV and RCZ sports car), with the 3008 SUV taking out the Design Award.

The judges described the Peugeot 3008 SUV as "The strengths of the 3008 are derived from a blend of motoring concepts whilst at the same time adopting a number of new and original technologies such as Dynamic Roll Control and Grip Control, enabling it to combine specifications usually deemed incompatible in an SUV."

Accepting the award at the gala event was Mr Robin de Michelena, Australia & NZ General Manager for Automobiles Peugeot. "Through its non-conformist approach and its resolute styling, the 3008 offers an original solution and optimal versatility to customers - those in search of modernity, practicality, peace of mind and driving pleasure. Protective, versatile and status-enhancing, the Peugeot 3008 - an SUV in all respects - opens up new motoring horizons".

The 'Design Awards signify a manufacturer's ability to produce a car that is functional, but doesn't lose its stylistic appeal.

Starting from $35,990, the Peugeot 3008 SUV is now officially one of the most stylish ways to get into a French SUV.
