Goodyear Eagle F1 Directional 5 tyre launched

On top of the recently launched Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 tyre, Goodyear has also released the Goodyear Eagle F1 Directional 5. The new tyre is the successor to the Eagle F1 GS-D3, showcasing the traditional V-Tred pattern design. It's said to offer high levels of traction, with SportGrip Technology, and a unique and sporty design.

The Goodyear Eagle F1 Directional 5 is a tyre for the sports car enthusiast that wants not only plenty of control from the tyre but also a tread pattern that compliments the car's performance-oriented attitude and style. The Eagle F1 Directional 5 is also recommended for sports driving enthusiasts and even drift enthusiasts who want a highly responsive tyre. Thanks to continuous and solid shoulder lines of the Directional 5, the tyre offers maximum rigidity, according to Goodyear.

It's not all about sports driving though, the new Directional 5 is said to offer high wet-weather grip thanks to the V-Tred pattern design which disperses water away and out of the tread pattern as fast as possible, reducing the chance of aqua-planing and shortening wet-surface braking distances. Goodyear's own tests are said to have shown considerable improvements in braking on wet and dry surfaces and in handling tests than the tyre's Eagle F1 GS-D3 predecessor.

The Directional 5 has also shown to offer lower road noise than its predecessor thanks the unique tread pattern and solid centre line rib. Goodyear says tests have shown the new tyre wears more evenly and makes less road noise, even once worn down.

The Goodyear Eagle F1 Directional 5 is now available in stores in sizes ranging from 16 inches to 19 inches for most passenger cars.
