Spada Codatronca Monza unleashed on-track

The one of a kind Spada Codatronca Monza has been unleashed at the famous Autodromo Nazionale Monza race circuit in Italy.

The Codatronca Monza was designed by Paolo, Ercole Spada and Domiziano Boschi of Spadaconcept, and built by Spadavetturesport for Aznom, a well-known company of Monza. Aznom wanted a car dedicated specifically to the world-famous race circuit.

The Spada Codatronca Monza has an aluminium tubular chassis coated in carbon fibre. The engine is a twin-supercharged 7.0-litre V8 with a brutal 530kW of power and 883Nm of torque.

The engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, although it doesn’t get much of a workout in sprint tests. The Monza’s party piece is accelerating from 0-100km/h in 3.0 seconds – in first gear. The supercar will go on to reach a top speed of 335km/h.

The Spada Codatronca weighs just 1180kg thanks in part to its stripped-out interior. It rides on Pirelli P Zero Corsa rubber wrapped around Oz Ultra-leggera wheels. Sitting within is a set of Brembo brakes with ABS and a fully adjustable suspension system.

The cabin features a high-definition video camera, while the steering wheel with integrated GPS captures telemetry and other vehicle data for overlay.

The Spada Codatronca Monza is a one-off – at this stage. Spadaconcept and Aznom plan to collaborate on special order versions of the open-top Codatronca Monza and a street-legal convertible model called the Barchetta Codatronca.

There is no word on pricing or availability at this stage.

What do you think of the Spada Codatronca Monza? Would you ever buy a back-garage supercar, or would you take the conservative route and stick with a Ferrari or a Lamborghini? Let us know in the comments section below.
