Renault teases all-new EV concept on Facebook

Renault has released a teaser image of an all-new electric concept car that will be unveiled in a video later this week.

The only scrap of detail we have so far is this sketch, which reveals a similar integrated grille and headlight assembly to the Renault CAPTUR Concept that debuted at March’s Geneva Motor Show.

The wheel design is also similar, although unlike the sports crossover CAPTUR, we have a feeling the new EV concept will be a city car. The sketch appears to reveal a short bonnet and an upright windscreen, representative of a small car.

Renault is pushing hard to become a leader in electric vehicle technology. The Renault Fluence Z.E. will go on sale to the public in Australia in the second quarter of next year, and is expected to be among the most affordable alternative energy vehicles on the road.

Renault has three other vehicles in its short-term Z.E. (zero emission) production plans – the Kangoo Van Z.E., the Twizy and the Zoe – which will all go on sale in Europe from 2012.

More information will be revealed in the coming days. Stay tuned.
