Mazda Shinari and Minagi Concepts at Australian International Motor Show 2011

Mazda has just unveiled two very special concept cars at the 2011 Australian International Motor Show in Melbourne. Called the Mazda Shinari Concept and the Mazda Minagi Concept, the two cars showcase a taste of Mazda's future 'KODO: Soul of Motion' design philosophy.

The Mazda Shinari is an elegant four-door coupe design inspired by a 'predator ready to pounce'. Although it is only a design concept at this stage, the Shinari embodies the future of Mazda design, and is rumoured to be the basis of an upcoming Mazda RX-9 sports car.

The Mazda Minagi Concept showcases Mazda's latest engineering and development SKYACTIV technologies, featuring design characteristics most likely to be seen on upcoming Mazda showroom models.

The design philosophy behind the concept SUV is expressed by Mazda as harnessing 'energy pulsing throughout the vehicle'. At the same time, the design is also said to be a compact and efficient use of space.

The two characteristics of emotion and functionality, with SKYACTIV technologies, are blended with this Minagi Concept. Mazda has also confirmed that this is the direction the next-generation Mazda CX-7 will undertake.

The new Mazda CX-7 will be unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September later this year.
